Support Youth in South Etobicoke

Since 2013, we’ve been showing up for kids and youth in South Etobicoke - on the soccer field, through youth leadership programs, at camps, and through ongoing support and care behind the scenes.

Today, hundreds of kids and youth are involved throughout the year, in low-cost programs, right in their community.

And we can only do this because of ongoing monthly support. As a non-profit youth organization, we fundraise for all costs, including our own salaries and programs.

Who We Are and Why We Keep Showing Up

We’re Andrew and Chelsea, the year-round staff in South Etobicoke. We serve as youth outreach workers with Youth Unlimited, a Christian non-profit with over 80 staff working with youth across the city.

In this community, our staff team is small, but we’re surrounded by dozens of volunteer coaches, leaders, and helpers who give their time every week, alongside the churches, schools, local businesses, and neighbours who partner with us.

And it’s about more than programs. Soccer, camps, creative arts, and leadership training matter, especially when they’re affordable and close to home. But the heart of this work is the impact on and off the field: being present with youth and families when life is hard, celebrating when it’s good, and being a familiar face in the neighbourhood long after the final whistle.

That kind of care can’t be scheduled into a program alone. It comes from consistent time and a caring presence.

That’s what your monthly gift makes possible.

If this is the kind of presence you’d like to see in our community, we’d love for you to be part of it.

Here’s an overview of our annual financial goals in South Etobicoke. When you give, you can choose where your gift goes, including our two priorities for 2026-2027.

The South Etobicoke Team

Your gift here supports all of our programs in South Etobicoke, covering what we can’t cover any other way.

It costs about $50,000 a year to run our programs well, including the Lakeshore Soccer League, the After-School Soccer Program, and a Creative Arts program for young women that’s in the works. Here’s how it comes together:

  • Families contribute about $15,000 through program fees, which we keep low so cost never keeps a kid out.

  • Our annual spring charity run typically raises around $5,000.

  • Partners (churches, businesses, and individuals) give between $10,000 and $15,000, depending on the year.

The rest comes from people who give monthly, and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for about $1,700 a month in new monthly support.

Support Chelsea

Chelsea has a heart for walking with young people and pointing them to hope. She supports the Lakeshore Soccer League and Leaders in Training program, where over 300 kids and youth find a sense of belonging each summer. Her desire is to build trust, share life, and partner with God in the growth of her community.

She also has a passion for creative arts and for supporting young women in the neighbourhood. This year she helped launch the Orange Slice Podcast for our LITs, and she’s working on launching Blooms of Joy, a creative arts program for young women.

Chelsea’s work is made possible by people who give monthly, and she’s about halfway to being fully funded. Every new monthly gift brings her closer to full-time, which would add significant capacity and care to our team, especially for the young women in our programs.

We’re looking for new monthly support to bring Chelsea to full-time.

To give monthly, choose “Chelsea” from the fund options on the giving page.

Want to Know More?

We believe in being open about how this works. If you have questions about our budget, how support is raised, or where your gift goes, we’re happy to talk. Reach out to Andrew at aironside@yugta.ca.

Thank you for caring about this community.

A monthly gift is the best way to help us stay, but if that’s not right for you, a one-time gift is always welcome.

Sincerely,

Andrew & Chelsea
