Capstone & Friends Charity Run!
Saturday, May 4th - 9:30am @ Father Redmond / Ken Cox
Thank you for joining our Capstone & Friends team, in support of the ongoing ministry with youth in South Etobicoke! The money raised through this weekend supports the Lakeshore Soccer League, Young Moms Program, and other ministries that Steph and I oversee year-round. We also have some Youth Unlimited coworkers from other parts of the city running with us, in support of their ministries!
We’ve compiled everything here that you need to know for the event. Please have a look, and let us know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Andrew & Steph

The Route
This is an important part of the morning, so read carefully. Because we are running our own event, we do not have volunteers along the route to tell you where to go. As a result, we have a few things in place to help.
#1 - The route is fairly straightforward as you’ll see. Study it beforehand!
#2 - Physical copies of the map will be available.
#3 - We’ve created a digital map through the MapmyRun app. There’s a few steps involved, but it’s worth it, as this will allow you to track the route in real time as you run/walk. Instructions here:
Start by downloading the MapMyRun app, and creating an account.
2. After you’ve made an account, you can click the maps (linked below)
3. This will take you to the website. Log in to your account again, and then bookmark the route (they made it hard to do this for some reason; you’ll need to click the little bookmark icon next to the route title).
4. At this point, you can open the app again, and search for your bookmarked routes, and you’ll find it there.
We can help you set it up, so don’t hesitate to ask!
Fundraising
Our goal for this weekend is to raise $15,000. It is ambitious, but we believe in the value of this work!
For more than 10 years, we have served youth and their families through consistent programs that are welcoming, fun, and accessible, and which provide opportunities for God’s love to be shown in action and word. This includes a commitment to offer programs at a fraction of the cost, opening a door for all families in our community to participate.
Here is a blurb you can copy and paste to your friends and family (make sure to include the link to our giving page):

On May 4th, I am participating in the Gaining Ground with YU charity run, in support of the work my friends are doing with Youth Unlimited in South Etobicoke. Youth Unlimited serves thousands of young people each year through grassroots initiatives across the city, including the Young Parents program and Lakeshore Soccer League here in our community!
Would you consider helping me reach my personal fundraising goal of $(aim high!), and our larger team goal of $15,000?
